Kill Your Darlings
“Kill your darlings, kill your darlings, even when it breaks your egocentric little scribbler’s heart, kill your darlings.”
― Stephen King
Have a think about all the things you’ve ever killed, such as an insect, your own child’s lifelong ambition, a dear friend’s trust? ‘Darlings’, in writing, are those words, phrases and even sentences that we are most proud of but have to remove so as to not hinder a reader’s understanding. The purpose of writing isn’t just for the writer; but for the reader too. For the sake of something, we often have to give up another that is usually very precious for the greater good. Kill Your Darlings investigates the practice of killing that has become a social and cultural norm only for us to remain completely oblivious to. The act of killing happens all the time, regardless of time; and so the question remains - when you kill your darlings, what are you killing them for?

In (Dys) Utopia
'In a dystopia, there is doom.
In a utopia, there is only doom.'
In a world of such abundant gifts and grace, our existence is still marred by forever unsatisfied souls clamoring for a better, grander life. However, what really constitutes to a perfect world encompassing perfectly satisfied inhabitants? Can we continue living in this dystopia? And do we really want a utopia? Be careful for what you wish for as we may never fully understand what we live for.
