Performer

Through a stroke of serendipity, Jason was introduced to the world of performing arts via Latin/Ballroom dance. Despite experiencing a rapid development, his experimentation with this genre was short-lived and was soon venturing into other more liberating styles such as contemporary, hip hop and jazz before eventually returning to the discipline of ballet.

Nonetheless, Jason is a fervent lover of all dances and strives to maximize its interdisciplinary potential. Through his assiduous and open-minded approach to research, he aims to deepen our understanding of the human body's visceral and exegetical association with dance and other physical art forms.

This page navigates through Jason's most significant moments as a professional performer whilst showcasing also his versatility. Thus, his quest is one that essentially investigates his own body's amorphous capacity.

Contemporary
Dance

Upon enrolling into the Hong Kong Academy for Performing arts, Jason finally received formal training in modern/contemporary dance alongside its inseparable companion, ballet. Amusingly, his initial inspiration for the genre was derived from his earlier days of watching the infamous TV series, So You Think You Can Dance.

Urban Choreography

Among the highlights â€‹presiding his university days was his ever vivacious hip hop collective, the MotionCoast Crew. What began as a casual gathering of choreographers merely for the love of grooving to their favourite tunes soon evolved into a ubiquitous, aspiring dance crew focused on cultivating an urban socio-cultural environment of dance accessible to anyone and everyone.

Modern
Jazz

Regarded as a style that fits into everything and nothing simultaneously, his knack for Jazz is rightly due to how it blends seamlessly into his foci of both contemporary dance and urban choreography.
